Prizes for Housing Tenants
17 November 2008
Housing tenants across Shropshire could find themselves winning prizes for taking part in one of the largest surveys of its kind ever in the county. The independent STATUS survey has been launched by five local housing providers, Shropshire Housing Group (which includes South Shropshire Housing Association and Meres and Mosses Housing Association), Severnside Housing, Oswestry District Council and Bridgnorth District Council. The results will reveal how tenants across the county feel about their homes and neighbourhoods, and the service they receive from their landlord for repairs and maintenance.
To thank tenants for completing the questionnaire, the names of all those who return questionnaires will be entered into a draw withthe chance of wining one of three fantastic prizes:
£100 to open a Credit Union Account; £100 towards a year’s Home Contents Insurance or a £50 Shopping Voucher. Meres and Mosses Housing Association Managing Director Jennie Barfoot said: “All Housing Associations have to carry out a Customer Satisfaction Survey on a regular basis. It is
an important way of measuring how satisfactorily you are performing as a landlord. The more tenants who respond, the better the picture we will receive. The results will help us to shape our services into the future to ensure that we are meeting the requirements of our tenants.”
It is the first time that five housing providers have come together for the survey, which is usually done individually about every three years.
BMG, an independent research company, is carrying out the survey on behalf of the five housing providers and has already sent questionnaires to around 13,000 households. All responses to the questionnaires are completely confidential.
A second copy of the questionnaire will shortly be sent by BMG to all those who have not yet responded, with a reminder of the closing date for returns.
Tenants who have already told their landlord that they prefer to respond to surveys over the phone will be contacted in this way.
