Shropshire HomePoint is not a Landlord, it is an online choice based accommodation scheme, a partnership between Shropshire Council and leading Housing Associations and other Landlords in Shropshire.
The scheme is responsible for managing the Shropshire Housing Register, also known as the Housing Waiting List and advertises available affordable housing to rent, swap, share and buy across Shropshire.
How Shropshire HomePoint Works
Complete either a HomePoint paper or an online application form and supply copies of any relevant documents. Copies of documents can be sent via post or email.
HomePoint will check whether you are eligible to join the Housing Register. If you are eligible, your need for housing will be assessed according to their four categories called ‘Bands’:
· Priority Band is for those in emergency need
· Gold Band for those with a high level of need
· Silver Band for medium level of need
· Bronze Band for those with no recognised housing need but would still like to consider for housing
Once you have registered you will be informed by email or letter of your Shropshire HomePoint reference number, your band, your registration date and a guide to your bedroom entitlement.
Available properties are mostly advertised on the website. Once you have your reference number you can apply, or bid, for 1 property per week. The property cycle runs from a Wednesday until midnight the following Tuesday. You have 7 days to bid, so there is no need to rush.

Each landlord will carry out verification checks at the point of offer to confirm the information and documents you have given are correct and up to date. It is important that you inform Shropshire HomePoint if your circumstances change.
