MMHA Board of Management

 
The Board is made up of four Tenant Board Members, four Council Nominees and four Independent Board Members.

Their duties include ensuring the Association complies with its values and objectives, approving each year’s accounts and budgets, and appointing or removing the Managing Director. 

The Board also ensures the delivery of major repairs and improvements programmes, and is responsible for policy development in the following areas;

GORDON HODGKISS
lives in Market Drayton and is an active member of the Tenants' Insight Group. Gordon has served on the MMHA Board of Management since its formation as a Shadow Board and was elected as Chairman at an early stage. Gordon was in the Police Force as a Senior Detective Officer until his retirement in 1992.  



MIKE PLATT
lives in one of the sheltered schemes in Market Drayton and is a Tenant Board Member. Mike has served on the MMHA Board of Management since its formation and is also Chairman of the Repairs and Improvements Committee.  Prior to his retirement Mike managed a house refurbishment company for 13 years. He has also served on the Parish and Town Councils.
 



HEATHER PATTIMORE
lives in Baschurch and has been a Tenant Board Member of the MMHA Board since its formation and is a member of the Quality and Design Forum. Heather has been pro-active in the promotion of MMHA’s identity and is also a member of the Consortium of Shropshire Tenants and has acted as secretary in recent years. Heather has previously worked as an industrial Occupational Health and Safety Nurse.     
 

BRIAN WILLIAMS has been a Council nominated member of the MMHA Board of Management since its formation. Brian is a civil engineer by profession, and spent his working life running his own building company in the Manchester area. He moved to Wem in 2001 and has made a second career in local government, being an elected member of both North Shropshire District Council and Shropshire County Council. Brian was also Vice-Chairman and Speaker of Shropshire County Council.  




MARGUERITE ASHLEY MBE, JP,
has served as a Board Member since the formation of the MMHA Board of Management. She lives in Ellesmere and is retired but was previously a Civil Servant with the War Pensions Agency, and in latter years a War Pensions Welfare Manager. Marguerite now acts as a Justice of the Peace and also stands on the Patients and Public Forum.




RICHARD JABOOR
is a Chartered Architect and lives in Shrewsbury although his own business is located in Wem. Richard has served on the MMHA Board of Management since its formation and is also a member of the Shropshire Preservation Trust. He was previously Chairman of the Wem Chamber Chamber of Commerce and the Wem Rotary Club. He is currently involved in the Shrewsbury Community Choir and the Shropshire Building Preservation Trust.



PAUL TURNER
lives in Shrewsbury and has been a member of the MMHA Board of Management since December 2007. Paul has a wealth of experience in Human Resources particularly in developing and delivering HR strategies and business plans.    



STEPHEN DONKERSLEY
lives in Wem and has been a Co-opted Board Member of the MMHA Board of Management since December 2007. Stephen is a freelance Social Worker/Social Work Manager.
   


DEWI DAVIES
lives in Hadnall and before retirement was employed by British Telecom as Customer Service and Press and Broadcasting Manager for North Wales and the Marches.

 

 


CHRIS MELLINGS

 
joined the Board as a Council nominee in September 2009 and is a member of the Group's Performance Committee. Chris is the Shropshire Councillor for Wem, Wem Rural & Whixall.   He has wide experience of local government having been a County Councillor for over 20 years. He is also a member of Shropshire & Wrekin Fire Authority, Wem Town Council and is Chair of Governors at St Peter's primary school in Wem. In his working life, Chris worked as a Revenues Manager with Powys Council. 

 

 PAULINE DEE 
was nominated to the Board by Shropshire Council in September 2009.  She has been involved in local government as a Wem town Councillor since 1980 and as a North Shropshire District Councillor as an Independent Councillor since 1983.  She was elected as an Independent  to Shropshire Council in June 2009 as one of the two representatives for Wem, Wem Rural & Whixall. She is mother of four grown up children. She is President/Chairman of Shropshire Scouts and a Vice President of Shropshire Guiding.
