Shropshire Housing Group Board
This Board is made up of two Nominated Members from SSHA Board, two Nominated Members from the MMHA Board, and 4 Independent Board Members.
Their main purpose is to ensure the smooth running of the Group, approve budgets and ensure the Group is performing well and keeping within guidelines set out by the Housing Corporation.
SHENA LATTO served on the SSHA Board of Management from July 1998 and is now the Chair of the Shropshire Housing Board of Management . She lives in Worcestershire and is a freelance consultant advising a range of public, voluntary and private sector clients on social care issues. She is also on the Board of the Independent Housing Ombudsman and the National Housing Federation.
LESLEY HYDE lives in Brimfield and is a solicitor specialising in family law. She became a member of the SSHA Board in September 2004 and is now a member of the Shropshire Housing Group Board.
RICHARD JABOOR is a Chartered Architect and lives in Shrewsbury although his own business is located in Wem. Richard has served on the MMHA Board of Management since its formation and is also a member of the Shropshire Preservation Trust. He was previously Chairman of the Wem Chamber Chamber of Commerce and the Wem Rotary Club. He is currently involved in the Shrewsbury Community Choir and the Shropshire Building Preservation Trust.
GORDON HODGKISS lives in Market Drayton and is an active member of the Tenant’s Insight Group. Gordon has served on the MMHA Board of Management since its formation as a Shadow Board and was elected as Chairman at an early stage. Gordon was in the Police Force as a Senior Detective Officer until his retirement in 1992.
STUART MCLAREN lives at Hopton Wafers and has been a member of the Shropshire Housing Board since November 2006 He is also the Chair of the Remuneration and Nominations Committee. Stuart is an independent member of SSDC’s Standards Committee. He retired from the British Diplomatic Services in 2004 following a career which involved working in British Embassies overseas including the Republic of Georgia, Malaysia, Ghana and Indonesia as well as in the Foreign Office in London.
IRENE OVERTON lives in Telford and joined the SSHA Board of Management in March 2006 and is also a member of the Shropshire Housing Board of Management. She has had a wide-ranging career in the public sector, most recently working for the Housing Corporation as a Regulation Manager.
MARTIN BUXEY lives at Bomere Heath and has been a member of the Shropshire Housing Group Board since August 2007. He is also Chair of the Performance Committee and a Director of Total Response Ltd. Martin has extensive experience of strategic management and policy formulation as an Army Officer specialising in logistics operations and latterly, in procurement and contracting, working abroad with the United Nations. He holds a MSc in Management Sciences, is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and is a Justice of the Peace for Shrewsbury and North Shropshire.
JOHN THOMAS has served on the SSHA Board from September 2001 and is also a member of the Shropshire Housing Board of Management. Before retiring he worked as a District Auditor and is qualified as a Chartered Public Finance Accountant. John now lives in Tenbury Wells.
