Committees - Roles and Responsibilities
Shropshire Housing Group has three Committees.
Group Performance Committee
This Committee comprises two Independent Board Members, one MMHA Nominee and one SSHA Nominee. The Group Board picks the Nominees.
The Committee is responsible for the Performance Management Framework, Risk Management, and Insurance Policies.
Group Remunerations and Nominations Committee
This Committee is made up of the Group Chair, two Independent Members, one MMHA Nominee, and one SSHA Nominee.
Their duties include determining and agreeing with the SHG Board the framework and policy for the staffing and establishment of the Group including all personnel issues, employment policies and remuneration of all staff including salary scales, and review the Rules and Regulations for the Group staff.
They also review the structure, size, composition and skills required of SHG Boards, and arrange for the appraisal of all Board members.
Repairs and Improvements Committee
The repairs and improvements Committee is made up of two independent members, two Council nominees and two tenant nominees. In addition to this, two tenants from the Quality and Design Forum will be co-opted to the Committee.
Committee’s duties include ensuring the delivery of the planned improvements programme and, in particular, set and monitor appropriate targets in relation to programmes for the replacement of household items including windows, kitchens, heating, bathrooms, external doors, fencing and gates.
The Committee also ensures the delivery of planned maintenance programmes including servicing of gas appliances, decorating communal areas of sheltered accommodation and flats, grounds maintenance and external decorations.
They also liaise with the Quality Design Forum and tenants' organisations to agree standards of quality and procurement arrangements.
