There are two Community Panels, one in the South and one in the North of Shropshire, to provide local input into SSHA & MMHA's plans for services and investment into neighbourhoods. The panels also makes decisions about how the Community Development Fund is used. The Panels award grants to community schemes which benefit our tenants and the areas in which they live.
Community Panels work with colleagues, boards and committees on behalf of tenants and residents to ensure that their needs and aspirations for housing and other neighbourhood issues are identified, understood and, where possible, addressed.
The Panel membership comprises interested tenants, shared owners, leaseholders and other members of the local community who want to make a difference.
They decide on grant awards for community projects and find out how we work with our communities. You can join the MMHA or SSHA Community Panel whether you live in a MMHA or SSHA property or not.
Being a member of the Community Panels requires some commitment and there are 6 meetings a year. They take place in Wem and Craven Arms, usually at 4.30pm. We will cover reasonable expenses for travel and childcare.
If you would like to join the Community Panel or find out more about its work or enquire about a Community Development Fund grant, please contact the Customer & Community Involvement Manager on 0300 303 1190.
