In a bid to help local residents land the jobs they want, SSHA has joined forces with 3 innovative Ludlow charities to bring help, advice and guidance for job seekers back into the town.
Based at the Rockspring Community Centre every Friday and supported by the SSHA Community Development Fund, Ludlow Job Club brings together the skills and expertise of The Furniture Scheme, Hands Together Ludlow, and Young Shropshire in Work, meaning Ludlow residents now have a new and exciting resource to help them as they search for work, develop their computer skills and get help improving CVs or interview technique.
Commenting on the launch of this innovative partnership Helen Vaughan, Community Involvement Manager, said:
“I’m so pleased we’ve been able to launch this support for local people looking for work. Week in and week out the people of Ludlow can now get the friendly and practical support they so often need when applying for work”
“Job Club has a suite of laptops, enabling all job seekers to get free high-speed internet access. This is a great example of how grass roots groups here in Ludlow are helping develop their own community”.
Commenting on the weekly sessions, Peter Gray from the charity Young Shropshire in Work, said:
“Everyone supports and encourages each other, every week we’re able to celebrate someone’s success - and that is fantastic!”
